NorthEast Run 2010 Race Review
NorthEast Run 2010 is the very first race for me this year. The total distance is 16km which i find it pretty weird but no worries, i would take it as an experience run at the east side despite of race held in east coast park or city. Went to this race with 2 of my friends.
Race started at 6:45am sharp. As this is my very first race of the year, i didn’t expect any good timings for this race, just aim for completion is my top priority. There was a bridge near the 2km mark which tends to be very bouncy due to the number of runners running pass. I was so afraid that the bridge will collapse anytime but luckily it didn’t; (singapore is a safe country!..haha!) There was 2 bridges which involves of climbing of staircase whilst another one is just slope. All runners participating the 16km category will have to go through X2; its a detour route. Anyway, the route was quite challenging but enjoyable. Oh ya, along the way, jane waved to me once again! first time was at singapore marathon.
I was stopped once for the traffic light and other than that, it was relatively smooth. Sadly to say, i managed to cloak a timing of 1:21 based on my watch (nett timing); but the total distance was not 16km but 14.9km on my watch.
I would not say i have a good timing race but truly, i enjoyed this race. There was free ice cream + games to play after the race. My friends and I was so addicted to the games that we keep going back for more. Waited for lucky draw and back home…!
Overall, the race is good but the running route could be improved further. Drink station was sufficient for me. At least i personally felt that this race was much better organized than mizuno wave run @ yio chu kang in 2009.
Till then, see u at next race
