Nike+ Human Race Review

Today is the Nike+ human race. I did not drive to race venue due to traffic congestion. I left my house at about 2pm and took mrt to city hall. On the way, saw quite a number of runners wearing the same Nike+ human race t-shirt as me; but the bib number is obviously different.
Reached at race event and drank a can of red bull and proceed to baggage checkin. I was so afraid that i would not be deposit my baggage as they limit it to a number of 5000. Lucky, i was early and manage to get myself a slot. lol
the race basically is divided into 3 waves, red, blue and green. Each color would flag off at a timing of 15mins interval. I was holding the blue tag, i stood and waited for almost half an hour at there and they flagged off approx 4:25pm. The weather ain’t looking good as dark clouds are approaching. I was praying that it would not rain.
Finally the horn went off and everyone started running. I thought i will be running 15mins later after the red tag, to my surprise, everyone besides me and infront of me started running as well..i was like wth ? The organizing committee is not doing their job. I have no room of time to even turn on my foot pod to measure the actual distance.
The 1st 1.5km i would say is the worst. It was difficult to get into any rhythm. It was start and stop. I decided to find room of space to squeeze myself and overtake some of the runners. Although my foot pod was not turned on, i can feel that the distance was shorter this time. the 2km i only took 9mins+? which is impossible. lol. anyways, it was quite cool along the way as there are live band singing as well. Everything get settle down after 2km and finally i can run at my own pacing.
I told myself that i would not rush because this is a charity run and also a cool down run after AHM. i did’nt drink any water for the 1st 4km. The weather starts to drizzle but who cares? everyone is still running. I was so afraid that i would fall down as there are down slope along the clarke quay. Hence i slowed down. Ran pass some of the runners and they stopped. I gave them a pat on their back and say “hey dont give up, we are reaching”.
When i was running, i was thinking back i once conquered this route during my milk run 2007. And the weather was burning hot. Thank god the weather was not as hot as last time; hence i should be appreciating this run.
I came in at a timing of 54:32.2 (according to polar watch). It was not my best, but rather not my worst for a 10km run. After which, collected a momentum item (nike bracelet) which i find it quite unique and different from other races. The pictures are shown below.
