The reporting time for RunNUS 2009 Men’s Open Category was 6.30am. I reached there 6am and walked over to the stadium. Saw quite a few runners already queuing up and register for the race. Less than 10mins, it was my turn and the volunteer stated “1″ on my running bib, which means i’m in wave 1; As stated on the race booklet, first wave would start off at 7.30am.  As the timing is getting closer, i saw a lot of runners gathered near the starting point.

Surprising, they didn’t start till 8am. I start to wonder why the organizer could start on time but delayed for 30mins or so. Perhaps is the deploying of other volunteers to their respective points. Race officially starts at 8am.

Running down to lower kent ridge road, down to pasir panjang road, to kent ridge park, which i ran there occasionally after my school in SP. Then to science park drive and back to NUS. Dark clouds were formed when i was in kent ridge park. There’s a slight changes to the route compared to last year. Close to finishing point, was surprised that we need to run a big loop instead of running the track to complete the 12km race.

Just as I stepped into the finish point and went into the tentage, heavy downpour. Most of the categories were cancelled, sorry to hear that thou. Purchased the event tee @ $10 and leave the event.

Cloaked a timing of 1:05:26 secs(net). Was pretty satisfied with the timing compare to last year 1hr9min54secs.

Overall, the race was good except the starting time. Sufficient water points, volunteers were friendly and encouraging.

Thanks to all the volunteers and one of the volunteers was my relative. Didn’t manage to catch up with her
